Kaleidoscope

Wheels of colour and light
spinning
unfettered
in an endless, timeliness, starry night sky.

Rainbows, in and without
throwing themselves to the warm evening breeze.
A silence falling, on all that we know.

It’s a kaleidoscope world.
So little and full of obvious mysteries.
COVID running rampant.
Around the maypole we gather
there’s something in the tea leaves
spelling out our doom.

But no.
While we cry for those we’ve lost
if we look hard enough
we can see hope’s sparkle in the healthy smiles of our children.
No Armageddon.
Just a kaleidoscope of mixed emotions in a new universe –
clouding out the dawn
of a fresh, cleaner and more diverse world.
